This position reports to
Service Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to ensure the Service portfolio is delivered effectively according to ABB
standard processes and safety guidelines to satisfy customers. Each day, you will execute technical support, act as a
specialist, and solve problems in your own area of expertise. You will also showcase your expertise by communicating
both with the customer and ABB sales teams proactively to ensure customer needs are understood and business
opportunities utilized for service growth. . The work model for the role is: Onsite You will be mainly accountable for:
• Commissioning and servicing of Automatic Voltage regulators and Static Excitation Systems in power plants of all
types and sizes; Voltage regulators in powerplant installations in a range of up to 1000 MW • Lead remote services and
support to enhance the solutions. Additionally, perform network stability studies with focus on power plant stabilities
and grid code compliance • Assisting in continuous improvement of project design, participating in project review
meetings, and providing input on service activities • Helping to create proposals for engineering projects or programs
and assisting Contract Managers in issuing claims • Creating work plans and cost estimates for work, conducting risk
and opportunity assessments during commissioning, reporting potential risks and resolutions • Identifying and
recommending solutions to meet business and customer needs, and providing relevant information • Providing information
to contractors/colleagues, and giving feedback to the organization to apply lessons learned • Applying and improving
processes and tools via automation and digitalization to ensure effective project delivery
Qualifications for the role
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related field
- A collaborative, solution-focused approach and strong written and spoken communication skills
- Passion and interest for digitalization of remote service concepts
- Knowledge of power systems simulation tools preferred (such as PowerFactory and PSS\E)
- You are highly skilled in commissioning or service for automation projects. Experience in Power Generation and in
Excitation
- Willingness to travel up to 70% of the time
- Fluency in English
