Job Description Summary
About Position
The Generator System Integrator will oversee the technical execution of integrating various component/product
subsystems into a complete generator ensuring seamless functionality. This role requires coordination with Product
Management, Technology teams, Centers of Excellence (CoEs), and the Project Office to deliver solutions that meet
performance and cost targets aligned with project requirements.
Job Description
Role & Responsibilities
- Define customer requirements and system regulations.
- Provide work packages to CoEs, including client requirements, interfaces, planning, performance, reliability, and
cost within the agreed scope.
- Serve as the single point of contact for external customers within the assigned scope (Generator).
- Coordinate and control interfaces among internal teams, customers, and partners as per the defined interface matrix
(DOW).
- Accountable for managing risks, opportunities, and margin movement within the scope of work.
- Harmonize and manage technical documentation, including numbering and O&M documents.
- Act as the primary technical representative to customers, coordinating and following up with internal and external
stakeholders.
- Define alternatives and potential optimizations during the design phase that could impact design, supply, or site
activities, in line with Product Management strategies.
- Deliver specifications and interface data to partners, including system, turbine, generator, and civil engineers.
- Oversee and coordinate validation of drawings and documents for project-specific aspects.
- Manage technical inputs and feedback across design, site, and customer interactions, from the Basic Design phase to
final product acceptance and As-Built documentation.
- Act as the interface for all internal and external communications.
- Evaluate changes against customer requirements and GE standards, issuing and managing change orders as needed, in
coordination with the HPM.
- Participate in project review and gate meetings.
- Coordinate support for site activities with CoEs.
- Manage project feedback for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor / Advanced degree in engineering with minimum 10 + years experience in Hydro.
- Strong knowledge in Hydro products / Large Generator’s Systems. Hands on experience in execution of engineering of
hydro projects & detailed know how on hydro generator technology & design.
- Rotating Machines / Special machine design experience
- Significant experience in managing in a global matrix Environment.
- Cross regional and team works
- Strong communication and project management skills
- Proven leadership and negotiation skills
- Proven analytical skills and strategic mindset.
- Open to change
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Team-player ... positive & engaged contributor to the team, willingness to learn & adapt to business needs
- Ability to travel regularly.
- German language proficiency (spoken and written)
