ABB E-mobility is a global leader in e-mobility charging, with largest installed base of DC fast chargers in the
market. Our vertically integrated offering includes a wide portfolio of DC charging hardware, a range of digital
services and advanced energy and fleet management solutions. Using cloud-based connectivity, we provide 24/7 remote
Asset Management services.
Public Transit and Fleet Charging forms one of the biggest growth opportunities within the E-mobility market, with
many large scale eBus and eTruck projects on the horizon. To address this market with a segment specific value
proposition, ABB E-mobility is searching for a Senior Solution Manager that supports both pre- and post-sales
opportunities in this technically and commercial exciting growth area.
As a Senior Solution Manager you will be responsible for scoping, offering and executing solutions projects that
maximize customer value by combining hardware, software and services into a segment specific solution proposition that
maximizes customer performance and reduces total cost of ownership over the lifetime of the project. You will ensure,
that pre- and post-sales activities are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner, in accordance with customer
requirements and quality standards until the project is successfully handed over to the Asset Management team for
regular operations. Furthermore, you are defining best practices and share them across the region and globally, to
improve the overall market success of our Solution Business.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer and Sales
- Offers technical and commercial advice on solutions inquiries, RFQs and tenders from customers and channel partners
about ABB E-Mobility offering in order to determine the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions.
- Performs analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and
address complex inquiries.
- Interacts with public officials, consortium partners, contractors, suppliers, and others if needed to define a
differentiating and performing solution to the customer
- Prepares and delivers technical presentations and demonstrations for both internal staff and customers.
- Defines cost for the proposed solution and communicates to the Sales organization.
- Provides information for the risk review process in accordance with ABB E-Mobility policy and participates in the
risk review assessment as required.
Solution Project - Execution Support
- Ensures project delivery towards customer at cost, on time and to specification in close collaboration with the
project delivery team by coordinating solution deployment with customer and relevant project partners.
- Leads project meetings to drive technical solution deployment and resolves any outstanding commercial and technical
issues together with the project delivery and asset management team, to meet contractual obligations.
- Oversees the creation of subcontracts and manages the subcontractors jointly with other involved disciplines,
including supply chain management.
- Supports the project delivery team in the process of creating and reviewing complete project documents for
conformity, safety, cybersecurity, and quality assurance requirements in close alignment with experts from in- and
outside the organization.
- Collaborates with Asset Management team on project installation, commissioning, and site activities to clarify
potential issues or provide solutions to rectify engineering errors.
- Negotiates claims and engineering changes (new scope of work, cost impact, time impact, and risk quantifications
including safety and cybersecurity, etc.).
Processes and Tools
- Leads the creation or review of new processes, tools, and techniques in the business, especially as it pertains to
offer and execute solutions projects most effectively.
- Reviews operational procedures to ensure compliance with policies and performance measures.
- Interacts with the Project Delivery Excellence team and Finance team to ensure best in class project execution
processes and guidelines.

- Implements global standards, rules, tools, policies, and processes related to solution offering and
operations/project execution.
- Demonstrates ABB E-Mobility’s core values and group safety and integrity standards and acts accordingly.
- Ensures adherence to all relevant internal and statutory regulations and policies.
- Demonstrates an understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) terms, concept application, reporting, and
risks.
Collaboration / Leadership
- Ensures that their own area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, skilled, and directed – also driving
processes across organizational boundaries.
- Coaches, motivates, and develops direct and indirect reports within HR policies.
- Drives and ensures knowledge sharing and cross-collaboration.
- Collaborates with counterparts in region and global teams to develop optimization plan and to support operational
excellence and customer satisfaction in the sales process.
- Ensures the resolution of customer issues in coordination with Sales, Marketing, Product Marketing, Logistics,
After-sales Service, and other internal and/or external teams.
- Develops talent, appoints managers, and reviews effectiveness to build an effective, capable, and high-performing
organization.
What you bring on the table:
- Advanced degree in engineering, technical background
- Experience in the E-Mobility space

- Fluent in spoken and written German and English, French highly beneficial

- Muti Year Experience in sales and or execution of industrial systems ideally including MV to LV electrical
distribution, energy management solutions, digital management systems, IT network design
