Technician
Mission
Our laboratory develops and applies advanced molecular technologies to study mechanisms of cell surface signaling,
cancer neuroscience, and protein engineering, integrating molecular biology, cell biology, and systems neuroscience
approaches. To support our rapidly expanding research program, we are seeking a highly motivated and experienced
technician to coordinate daily scientific operations and help shape the strategic vision of the group.
Main duties and responsibilities
- General laboratory support : Maintain overall lab organization, including ordering and inventory management,
preparation of buffers and reagents, autoclaving, dishwashing, and waste management.
- Molecular biology : Assist in DNA cloning, plasmid preparation, bacterial transformation, and basic protein
expression and purification.
- Cell biology : Maintain mammalian cell cultures, prepare media, assist with transfections and routine imaging or
assays under supervision.
- Safety and compliance : Act as point of contact for biological and chemical safety, ensure proper use of facilities,
and assist in implementing safety guidelines and training for new lab members.
- Equipment maintenance : Maintain laboratory instruments in good working condition, coordinate repairs, and ensure
calibration and service schedules are met.
Profile
Required qualifications :
- CFC, BSc or MSc in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, bioengineering, or a related life science field.
- At least three years of hands-on experience in an academic or industrial research environment, ideally in molecular
or cell biology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and organize a medium-to-large research laboratory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in an international and
multidisciplinary team.
- Fluency in English and French
