Student Research Assistant Position - HoloLens Biomedical Image Visualization
20%-30%, Zurich, fixed-term
print Drucken
Modern diagnostic imaging modalities provide a wealth of information in three and more dimensions, which often exceeds
human processing capacity. To help humans to study the information and to help medical students and professionals to
interactively explore human anatomy and (patho)physiology we have created the open-source Essential Vision project.
Project background
As part of the Essential Vision project we have a part-time Student Assistant position available which concerns
software development and image processing in an existing Unity-based framework to interactively visualize dynamic 3D
anatomical models using Microsoft’s HoloLense. The anatomical and functional models are derived from time-resolved
multi-contrast 3D Magnetic Resonance and Computed Tomography image datasets and other data sources which are available
to this project.
Job description
We are looking for an experienced Programmer who will apply and further develop his/her programming skills in
C#/Unity. A keen interest in augmented reality applications and medical imaging in general is desired along with a
self-reliant and highly committed approach to software development
Software design and implementation (70%)
- Coding of visualization/communication layers and objects
- Conversion and display of time-resolved .vtk input models
- Color overlay to represent functional aspects
Validation and testing (20%)
- Testing together with researchers and clinicians
- Support of deployment for cardiac interventions
Documentation and communication (10%)
- Presentation of methods and results
- Code documentation for reproducible research
Profile
- Solid programming experience in C#/Unity, Python
- Self-motivated, self-organized and committed team player
