The Product Engineer VCSEL (m/f) is responsible for product cost, yield, quality and reliability of the assigned
product group. He has a comprehensive understanding of the overall process and production flow, which enables him to
identify major cost drivers and critical process steps to initiate and lead cost reduction and yield improvement
programs. The Product Engineer is covering interfaces to R&D for new product introduction, Planning and Production
Control to ensure production demands, Quality to cover reliability and RMA aspects and finally to the customer to act
as the technical interface and support for the customer.
Your responsibility
- You ensure the compatibility of fabrication process modifications with the performance and reliability requirements
of our products.
- You are responsible for product documentation, specification and release.
- You continually improve manufacturing flow, test procedures and process control and FMEA.
- You are responsible for planning and execution of qualification tests for the introduction of new fabrication and
test processes as well as cost reduction programs.
- You collaborate with various groups within the company for the introduction of new products into the manufacturing
line.
- You act as the technical interface to internal and external customers.
Your profile
- You hold a master’s degree in physics or opto-electronics.
- You have 3 years of experience as product engineer, yield engineer or testing engineer of lasers.
- You have a profound knowledge of semiconductor lasers including physics, manufacturing and applications (ideally in
the field of VCSELs)
- You have fact-based decision-making capabilities.
- You have experience in interaction with customers on technical level.
- Your excellent English and German language skills allow you to efficiently communicate at any level of the
organization.
