Your role and responsibilities
As site supervisor you will represent ABB to customers and contractors at customer site. You will be responsible for
the planning, coordination, and supervision/execution of all mechanical work/services that must be performed during
erection, installation and pre-commissioning, or during a periodical maintenance inspection at the customer site. You
will oversee mechanics and trade helpers in the mechanical repair, maintenance, and installation of mechanical
components. Additionally, you will guide and support the mechanical maintenance team, utilizing predictive and
preventative maintenance programs to maintain all plant operating equipment. The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid
This role is contributing to the Process Industries division in Switzerland. Your responsibilities • Planning and
executing the detailed mechanical works based on contractual requirements and the available resources at site as well
as advising site personnel (mechanics, welders, helpers) of proper use of the necessary tools and materials. In
addition to that, identifying discrepancies in drawings and report them for revision. • Ensuring and supervising that
the mechanical workforce and all contractors are using the tools and materials according to the documents (last
revision for construction) and are delivering the works according to the promised quality standards and according to
the promised schedule. • Establishing priorities, evaluate mechanical requirements in consultation with site manager
and ABB product management/engineering teams. Also, ensuring correct priority allocation and minimizing schedule
disruptions in work. • Participating in site meetings with site manager, staff, contractors, and customers and
addressing technical queries to the site manager or to the back-office.
Qualifications for the role
- Degree as Mechanical Engineer Apprentice
- Minimum 3 years of verifiable site work experience
- Advanced technical knowledge in electrical aspects of the ABB GMD system
- Willingness to travel
- Fluency in English; Spanish is an advantage
