Job Title: Technical Director - HV Substations
Location: Switzerland / United Kingdom / India

We are seeking an experienced Technical Director HV substations to support our engineering team during a pivotal
period of growth. In this role, you will provide technical support for engineering development, coordinating
multicultural engineering teams based in the UK and India with the goal of implementing strategies that optimize costs,
improve engineering quality and reliability. Your leadership will be crucial from the tender stage through project
execution, ensuring effective technical support for tendering and project execution functions.
What will you do?
Main Accountabilities: -
- Strategic Leadership – Develop and lead strategy, objectives and targets for a specific functional area in alignment
with Linxon strategy. Drives the end-to-end service provision (design through delivery), influences and consults with
senior management across Hubs/Global functions to innovatively shape the design and development of own functional area.
Ensures effective and efficient implementation of engineering strategy activities throughout the organization by
increasing the engineering competence.
- Strategy Implementation – Contribute to the definition, implementation, and execution of Country engineering
strategy, covering areas such as project design reviews, Process & Excellence, Risk Management, Supply Base Management
& Quality, Sustainability, and engineering tools.
- Performance Targets – Determines project engineering KPIs, aligns targets with Hub & Global engineering targets and
monitors performance.
- Process Excellence – Leads the development and oversees implementation of engineering processes in the UK,
continuously benchmarking against peer companies and world-class performers.
- Special Projects – Leads special projects with long term engineering strategy focus, aligned with Country, Hub and
Global management strategy.
- Training & Development – Provide training to ensure the on-going development of engineering competencies and skills
in the business.
- Compliance – Governs Linxon engineering standards on health and safety, sustainability, business ethics,
environmental regulations and Level of Authority. Implements and maintains the related engineering instructions and
procedures.
- People Leadership – Ensure a collaborative and supportive environment by developing a well-organized and skilled
team. Guide and motivate team members within HR policies, fostering growth and development for both Linxon and its
employees. Promote open communication and teamwork to enhance collective performance. Oversee succession planning for
key engineering positions, ensuring smooth transitions and continuity. Coordinate talent management processes
regionally with Hub and Global functions, encouraging cross-functional collaboration and shared goals.
Requirements:
- Extensive years of experience in Power Sector – Transmission & Distribution business.
- Vast experience in design for Extra High Voltage Substations.
- Extensive experience in project execution engineering roles.
- Experienced in handling project design development timely, ensuring on time project documentation submission aligned
with Customer quality expectations.
- Possess strong technical knowledge in power transmission and distribution technologies, proposing optimized
technical solutions in view of the cost saving strategy.
- As part of a Global company, extensive international experience and knowledge of various utilities, standards and
specifications.
- Analytical leadership with an independent and solution-oriented working style, as well as strong communicative and
collaborative skill.
- Previous experience in a multicultural environment and high degree of inter-cultural sensitivity help you lead and
motivate team by influence.
- Extensive experience in commercial negotiations.
- Supporting engineering resource development within the team based in the UK and favoring the effective utilization
of the engineering resources based in the Global Engineering & Technology Services (GETS) office in India.
Competencies/ Skills Required:
- Preferred: Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Self-disciplined, able to work autonomously with a high degree of initiative and with an appropriate sense of
urgency.
- Experience in a result driven environment and problem solving and analytical skills.
- Professional Presentation skills.
- Demonstrate high level of people development and leadership skills.
- Strong relationship skills and teamwork.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with Customers and Suppliers.
- Proven experience in change management.
- Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
