The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is currently undergoing a period of strong growth that requires significant expansion of our
manufacturing base to meet the rising demand in the electrical distribution market. In addition, we have recently been
through a major IT reorg that has led to the creation of the Transformer BST or Business Solution Team, that is tasked
with supporting the Transformer business with its IT needs.
This role is part of the Transformer BST and will function as the Solution Architect for the shopfloor IT environment,
including MES (Manufacturing Execution System), machine connectivity and machine monitoring solutions.
The Solution Architect is responsible for the design, integrity and quality of the IT solutions and associated
services delivered to the Business in this domain. The Solution Architect ensures that the Solution/Services provide
the required functionality within cost guidelines. In addition the Solution Architect seeks to minimizes risk to
business regarding security, cost, obsolescence or performance and continuity.
How you’ll make an impact

Define the technical elements of IT Solutions and ensure alignment with HE enterprise architecture guidelines and
strategy

Collaborate with the Service Delivery team to estimate effort and cost, complexity and risk, for any new IT Demands in
the portfolio

Provide technical review of requirements to map business requests to standard tools and functionality, and identify
where additional customization or custom development would be required

Help define the technical specifications for new solutions or significant enhancements to existing solutions

Support the Run organization with incident and problem resolution when technical expertise is required

Assist with the review and evaluation of incoming Change Requests

Evaluate new applications, tools and technologies that would be valuable additions to the internal IT landscape
Your background
-
Strong IT project management skills.
-
Experience in building IT integrations
-
Knowledge of finance, budgeting and financial reporting.
-
SAP FI/CO experience
-
Ability to communicate effectively with business users as well as technical teams.

Ability to create and update application and project documentation in English
-
Knowledge of HE IT Project governance process.
