Empower the Future with Hitachi Energy: Join us as a Scientist in System Reliability. We are looking for a passionate
and proficient scientist to join us in reliability research for power grid assets and systems. As part of our dynamic,
motivated, and creative team, you’ll bridge theory and application, developing, testing, and validating novel methods
and technologies to facilitate the energy transition.
How you’ll make an impact
-
You make a difference: Analyze reliability, availability, maintainability and safety by state-of-the-art probabilistic
methods, identify critical infrastructure by risk assessment and field data analysis, define and establish
verifications based on reliability testing
-
You innovate: Bring together a solid background in reliability engineering methods, mathematical modeling, asset
performance management, and physics-of-failure understanding to improve quality and reliability on system level for
mission-critical power grid equipment
-
You take initiative: Collaborate with a global team of researchers and engineers in Hitachi Energy Research and
Hitachi Energy business units to identify and solve real-world problems and realize opportunities for further
improvements
-
You connect: Build relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with
local and global external partners including universities, start-ups, and vendors
-
You communicate: Disseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports
Your Background
-
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Energy Science and Technology, applied mathematics/physics mechanical
engineering, or a related field

-
Proficiency in programming and simulation tools such as Python, MATLAB, or similar platforms
-
Industry or post-doc experience (in energy technology or other industries like automotive, rail, aerospace,
telecommunication) in developing and implementing product reliability improvements is a plus
-
