R&D Equipment Operator
Join Daphne Technology in solving the methane slip problem. Daphne Technology develops products to measure and reduce
methane slip and other harmful emissions in exhaust from gas-powered engines on land and at sea. Our solutions enable

We are seeking an R&D Equipment Operator to join our R&D team starting from 1st August. The successful candidate will
be responsible for operating various types of equipment and systems used in our industrial R&D Facility. You will be
responsible for operating and maintaining equipment used in laboratory and pilot-scale experiments. The role requires a
strong understanding of equipment operation, safety procedures, and basic maintenance, as well as the ability to work
collaboratively with scientists and engineers to support experimental objectives.
Your key responsibilities:
- Working in R&D, and reporting to Daphne’s Senior Scientist(s), you are responsible for operating and maintaining
laboratory and pilot-scale equipment in Daphne’s industrial R&D Facility.
- Follow safety guidelines and best practices to ensure safe operation of equipment and compliance with regulatory
requirements.
- Inspect equipment before each use to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair
needs to supervisors.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing fluids, lubricating moving parts, and replacing worn or damaged
parts, as well as material handling in accordance with safety protocols.
- Use hand and power tools to adjust and maintain equipment settings and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Configure controllers, sensors, devices, and communication protocols on equipment with minimal assistance.
- Monitor equipment operation and adjust to optimise performance and ensure experimental objectives are met.
- Collect experimental data using laboratory instruments and software.
- Read and interpret experimental protocols, procedures, and other technical documents to ensure accurate and
efficient operation.
- Communicate with research scientists, engineers, and other team members to support experimental objectives and
ensure efficient and safe operation of equipment.
- Complete daily logs and reports to document equipment usage, maintenance, and experimental results.
- Ensure that laboratory work areas are kept clean and organised, and that all equipment and tools are stored properly
when not in use.
Your qualification:
- Technician degree (CFC) in Electrical, mechanical or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating laboratory or pilot-scale equipment in a research and development setting.
- Service-oriented person with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance best practices.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as experimental protocols, procedures, and instrument manuals.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with scientists, engineers, and other team
members.
- Hands-on skills to operate machinery and perform routine maintenance tasks.
- Experience with analytical instruments such as spectrometers and chromatographs is a plus.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as to assist in areas outside of their
primary role, as needed to support experimental schedules.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
