The Project Engineer is responsible for the design and technical documentation of uninterruptible power supply (UPS)
systems throughout the duration of the project contract. This process begins with the transfer of the project from the
Sales department and continues through system delivery.
The Project Engineer independently develops technical solutions tailored to customer needs while ensuring quality and
cost efficiency. With advanced knowledge of Gutor UPS solutions (including XXW, SDC, Modular, etc.), the Project
Engineer serves as the primary point of contact for any technical questions from customers and all project stakeholders.
Collaboration is key; the Project Engineer works closely with project team members and maintains strong relationships
with R&D and Procurement. Additionally, they provide essential project-related support to the Assembly and Test Bay
teams.
Solution Support
- Review Technical Specifications: Assess and analyze customer technical specifications to ensure compliance and
feasibility.
- Technical Clarification and Deviation: Address and clarify technical questions and manage deviations from standard
practices.
- Evaluate Technical Customer Requests: Assess and respond to customer technical inquiries and requests.
- Customer Support: Responsible for addressing technical customer queries,
Solution Design
- UPS Configuration: Oversee the UPS configuration and detailed design according to customer specifications, Gutor
processes, and defined standards.
- Cost Optimization: Develop cost-optimized engineering solutions while maintaining high quality.
- BOM Creation: Design and create the BOM for the UPS using available engineering tools.
- EPLAN Design: Utilize the EPLAN or similar engineering tool for UPS design, including drawings and BOM.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare project-specific technical documents, including technical data, test documents, and
calculations.
- PLC Programming: Program PLCs for special features.
- Manual Preparation: Draft non-standard instructions for manuals.
3rd Party Supplier Management
- Technical Clarification and Order Placement: Manage technical clarifications and place orders (UNC/Purchase
Requisitions) with third-party suppliers.
Operations Support
- Assembly Documentation: Prepare assembly documentation (BB-Blue Binder).
- Test Bay Documentation: Prepare testbay documentation (GB-Green Binder).
- Change Instructions: Draft Change Instructions (CI).
- Shop Floor Support: Provide support to assembly and testbay operations on the shop floor.
- System Release: Conduct the system release.
Inspections
- FAT Support: Assist the Project Manager during the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) regarding specific technical
aspects.
- Modifications Initiation: Initiate modifications through Change Instructions (CI) resulting from FAT or Field
Inspections punch items.
- Field Inspections: Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment-related issues that arise during inspections (DNV, ABS,
CSA, etc.).
