Job Description
As a member of the Design Liaison Engineering team, you will provide design engineering support to the Gas Turbine
Engineering organization and our global supply chain network.
The team ensures technical rigor and design integrity while driving timely customer fulfillment. Within the
Mission-Based Team, engineers work across the Annular Hot Gas Path (HGP), supporting turbine components such as blades,
nozzles, and heat shields.
The team is responsible for:
- analyzing and dispositioning hardware deviations at suppliers and GEV factories,
- qualifying second-source suppliers,
- leading lean cost-reduction and redesign initiatives,
- executing drawing revisions.
This role provides engineers with hands-on exposure to diverse hardware and manufacturing processes, opportunities for
technical analysis and design improvement, and collaboration with sourcing and quality partners to deliver tangible
impact on key manufacturing issues.
Your profile:
- Enjoy being in a hands-on manufacturing environment and applying mechanical engineering fundamentals to solve issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills that can be exercised at various levels of audience ranging from
operators in the shop to upper level leadership.
- Passion for continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with a sense of urgency while not compromising integrity and design intent of
parts/assemblies.
- Experience with analytical tools such as FEA (Ansys, etc), 3D CAD (NX, etc), MS Office, etc.
- Experience with interpreting drawings (GD&T), bill of materials, etc.
